Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a brawler from Tribute Games, who gave us the excellent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. That game was a shot of adrenaline straight from the 90s and did justice to the Turtles' extensive arcade lineage. Now Marvel's heroes are ready for a side-scrolling beatdown and a new trailer revealed two more of the extensive cast of characters.

Obviously, Black Panther is well-known now because of his own movies and role in the Avengers flicks. Marvel's attempts to turn Ghost Rider into a household name haven't gone as well, despite a Nicolas Cage-starring flick and a stint on ABC's Agents of Shield.

This cosmic version of the character comes from a storyline in which he became the Herald of Galactus. Also, this version is Frank Castle, better known to most Marvel fans as the Punisher. I mean, if anybody is a fit for ensuring that evildoers get penance, Frank Castle is the guy for that.

Panther is an agile martial artist, able to avoid enemy attacks and then quickly dish out his own combos. He also wields vibranium daggers for a ranged attack. These blades stagger enemies, which will undoubtedly allow for some sick moves on the battlefield. Tribute is using the characters' superpowers to ensure Cosmic Invasion is no ordinary brawler.

His special move, the Panther Slash, releases his costume's stored kinetic energy to cut across the screen with his vibranium claws.

Cosmic Ghost Rider, as you might expect, is a bit tankier. He uses the flaming Chains of Cytorrak to unleash justice on enemies. His cosmic blasters give an epic ranged attack. His special move summons his ghostly motorcycle to run over enemies.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is coming later this year to PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
