Going all the way back to the legendary Michael Vick in Madden 04, mobile quarterbacks have been a serious cheat code. Many current players wish to pick up his mantle, but perhaps none do it as well as two-time MVP Lamar Jackson. The Baltimore Ravens playbook is designed to take advantage of this, and a play revealed in the Madden 26 beta has players salivating.

Fake HB Zone QB Boot allows the speedy signal caller to fake a handoff to the left and then run a bootleg to the right, allowing him to either throw a quick pass or use his wheels to get out of dodge. If the defense bites on the fake, it has easy touchdown potential. As many longtime players have noted, this trick can be so effective that even Peyton Manning has scored touchdowns doing it.

I'm not gonna lie. I almost always use a mobile quarterback. It just opens up so many plays that aren't available with a typical pocket passer. Even a play that completely breaks down at the line of scrimmage can still be a winner if the quarterback can break lose. Once you add the threat of RPOs, play-action passes and now fake handoffs, there are so many ways to leave the defense on the back foot just long enough.

Now obviously, fumbles can be a problem. But options such as conservative carrying and the Truzz X-Factor, which prevents the QB from fumbling, do a lot to mitigate that issue. I can't wait to see what new tricks quarterbacks will have in their toolboxes in Madden 26.
