Think, Mark, think! Look at what other tag team fighters need to do to mimic just a fraction of our power! Invincible VS is a 3-on-3 fighter set in the bloody, brutal world of Robert Kirman's hit comic book and Amazon Prime TV show.
It continues in the bloodletting, spineripping tradition set forth by Mortal Kombat, which is why Omni-Man fit so well into that game's universe in Mortal Kombat 1. Gamescom gave another chance for players to get their hands on the hotly anticipated fighter from Quarter Up, formed from staff that worked on 2013's Killer Instinct.
The devastating combos here are pulled right from the world we see in Invincible, removing limbs and decimating enemies in the most violent fashion imaginable:
All these wild combos are achieved using only four buttons: light, heavy, medium, and special, instead of the six buttons common in these fighters. They're going for a more pick up and play experience, which is probably the right approach for a game that will appeal to a more casual player.
The veteran fighter will find a lot of opportunities to be creative with the tools available, as evidenced by some of the wild combos we've already seen in the Invincible VS reveal. Quarter Up expects to have 15-20 fighters available at launch. With 3vs3 combos, that's a number, amount... I'm not great at math, that's a lot of combinations.
Invincible VS is targeting a 2026 launch as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning you'll be able to enjoy it on your console, PC, or any supported handheld device at no additional cost.
