Every year, there's a special move or two in Madden NFL that just hits different. So far, spin moves are giving ballcarriers that little something extra they need in the open field. Here's how to get it done:
Madden 26 features two spin moves, actually. You can do a quick spin by releasing R2/RT and pressing Circle/B to evade a player that would get the tackle otherwise. For a wide spin, hold R2/RT and press Circle/B. This wider spin is great for cutting upfield.
For reasons we're still figuring out, players 6'4 and over seem to get a better animation on this move. Now's a good time to mention the special ability Spin Cycle, which allows you to steer spin animations with the analog stick and makes spin moves even more powerful.
Make sure to practice these moves before you take them into a game, because a properly applied hit stick is all that's necessary to put you and the football on the ground. It's important to remember you don't want to start sprinting until you have found a hole and are ready to start taking the ball upfield. In fact, Madden defenders are programmed to get block sheds faster if you sprint behind the line of scrimmage.
Some of the best runs in the game, such as those with pulling guards, require you to exercise patience and let blocks develop. Then in the open field, you can begin spinning, juking and stiff arming to your heart's content.
Contrary to popular belief, you can run the ball in Madden NFL 26. It just takes the right plays, patience and practice.
