I'm not sure what this new Marvel Rivals mode is, and that's why I must play it

Marvel Rivals has caught on for several reasons, one definitely being that players were ready for a hero shooter with the comic book heroes we grew up with. There are also the game's, let's say, thirstier aspects of character design. But at its core, NetEase's superhero game isn't afraid to have some wacky fun. Its new mode, Giant-Size Brain Blast, looks like a whole lot of that.

I love the bobblehead-like appearances of our favorite Marvel heroes (or villains, I"m not judging) in this trailer. I love the ridiculous cartoon noises they make when they hit each other. Play this mode for 10 rounds, and you'll earn a Brain Blast emote. But choose wisely, because you can only give it to one character.

This gives me NBA Jam Big Head Mode feels. It's the kind of crazy thing games used to do all the time. Sadly, it's also the kind of crazy thing some publishers charge extra for now.

Placing the Top 500 on the leaderboard gets you a Giant-Sized Brain Title, Top 100 earns Monster-Sized Brain, the Top 10 gets Planet-Sized Brain. Sadly, it appears there is no MODOK-sized setting. If they do this after he gets released, I shudder to think how big his cranium would get.

The mode starts April 25, and NetEase hasn't said when it will end. I am loving Marvel Rivals Season 2 so much right now. The new vanguard Emma Frost is strong (perhaps too much so) and I can't wait to see what sort of mischief Ultron gets up to.
