Thanks largely to the incredible job Hugh Jackman has done playing Wolverine in the MCU, many people think he's 6-2. My wife just found out he's short as I was discussing this piece. In the comics, he's around 5-2, as hilariously lampooned with his "comic accurate" version in Wolverine and Deadpool.
It's not hard to figure out why Fox went with Jackman. If the first X-Men movie had failed, we might not have the MCU today. Jackman has turned the character into a sex symbol. Traditional Hollywood sex symbols are either tall like Jackman, or have shorter actors cast around them to make them appear taller (Tom Cruise, Kiefer Sutherland).
When I first started playing games more than four decades ago, nobody cared if the game characters were tall, handsome, or whatever because you couldn't see them that well. Now, in this pixel-perfect era of high-quality graphics, the attractiveness of game characters is a thing people debate. I can't say it has ever made a whole bunch of sense to me, but game companies know who their audience is.
Wolverine will be played by Liam Mcintyre, who it's worth noting is 6-1. But in digital form, that can certainly be manipulated. Leaked images so far seem to indicate Logan is significantly shorter than his in-game foes. After the latest trailer debuted during Sony's State of Play, fans were still divided on how short he appears to be from the footage we saw.
I bet no matter what height he is in game, Sabretooth calls him "runt."
