The Mortal Kombat franchise has been appealing to my inner 13-year-old boy since - it was my outer 13-year-old boy. Fully realizing how many oldheads are in its audience, MK is embracing its reputation as the fighting game for boomers. Lo and behold, Robert Patrick's T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day enters the game as part of the Khaos Reigns pack. Here's a new trailer showing off his moves:

Speaking of 90s references, T-1000's kit will look familiar to anybody who mained Glacius in Killer Instinct back in the day. The T-1000 is the final fighter to join MK 1. He'll be free for anybody who owns the Khaos Reigns DLC, and available for separate purchase on March 25. The Khaos Reigns pack also includes Conan The Barbarian, so I think it's safe to say this DLC is Ahh-nold approved. They join a cast including the likes of Peacemaker, Omni-Man and Homelander, gaining the capability to settle more "what if these two heroes" fought queries than a Big Bang Theory marathon.

MK fans are understandably concerned as this franchise is under the Warner Bros gaming umbrella. But MK1 moved 5 million copies, so this famous fighter isn't going anywhere. It's one of the four pillars WB will continue forward with, alongside Batman, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones. It's a crying shame we'll never see Scorpion throw down with the likes of Rick Sanchez and Velma Dinkley in Multiversus, but it's good news that Scorpion and Subzero aren't on WB's ever growing chopping block.
