Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is set for another new interesting mystery gift in the coming weeks with the Latin American International Championship on its way this coming November. The plan seems to be for Game Freak to give away yet another Pokémon in lieu of this year’s tournament.

The Pokémon in question this time will be a shiny Pelipper. The mystery gift is set to commemorate the winner of the North American International Championship, Patrick Connors. The tournaments have become opportunities for the whole community to become engaged, even if it is just for the giveaway/ mystery gifts in question.

Not only is this Pelipper set of be shiny, but with the Pokémon being based on the one used in competitive play, it will also have the stats needed to be used competitively by players who may be interested in entering the scene. This is one of many giveaways that have made competitive play far more accessible to players who do not have the time to grind and breed Pokémon specifically for this aspect of play, which may have been less easily accessible otherwise for more casual players.

The trend that Pokémon have set with these giveaways will also please shiny hunters, as getting a free shiny is always a bit of a boon, even if shiny hunting has become an expedited process in the latest mainline Pokémon games. Additional shiny mystery gifts that have occurred in the same vein include the shiny Lucario from December 2023, as well as the shiny Arcanine mystery gift that same month.

As with many of the other shiny Pokémon has given away in the past, this one is likely to become a collectors item in the not so distant future. Players will have from the date of code release to November 21st to claim this mystery gift.
