G2 Esports look to continue their golden era in VCT Champions Paris 2025 as they face off against Team Heretics.
G2 Esports is coming off its third VCT Americas trophy this season, completing the three-peat and dominating the Americas region.
They look to solidify their already successful season with an international win.
Although they weren’t able to win in Bangkok or Toronto this season, they aim to win the final international tournament of the year, arguably the most important.
G2 Esports and Team Heretics have faced off against each other multiple times, with G2 having a 2-1 record against them, their last match being VCT Masters Shanghai 2024, where Team Heretics was able to beat G2 in the Losers' final.
G2 Esports enter this match on a high note and looks to continue the high by defeating Team Heretics.
Going into the first map of this match, Team Heretics would choose Corrode.
Team Heretics have played Corrode once since it came out, and they won that match.
As for G2 Esports, it would be one of their weaker maps, as they had a 1-3 record and a 25 per cent win rate.

With G2 having a winning record on Lotus, it looked like it would be their map to win.
Team Heretics would start on the attacking side, and G2 would choose to defend.
The three-time Americas Champion burst through the gate in the first half, with a 6-round win streak to start the map.
Team Heretics would answer back with a 5-1 run to end the first half, but G2 would be leading the half with 7-5.
G2 Esports IGL Valyn would lead the half for his team with 12 kills, 7 deaths and 8 assists.
G2 had high hopes heading into the second half with the lead, but Team Heretics would be the one on fire.
They would run through G2 Esports, within the first four rounds, to gain the lead.
Team Heretics would drop only three rounds to G2 before securing the win, sweeping VCT’s first three-peat champions.
Wo0t From Team Heretics would get map MVP with 23 kills, 16 deaths, 4 assists, while his teammate RieNs would get match MVP for a total of 41 kills, 29 deaths and 19 assists.
Team Heretics would also tie their record with G2 Esports, making it 2-2 all-time.
The Americas champions G2 Esports would drop down to face Dragon Ranger Gaming in an elimination match, and Team Heretics will move on to face T1 to decide who makes the playoffs.
