Five Nights at Freddy's was Blumhouse's highest-grossing release of 2023, and the highest-grossing horror movie of that year. After making $297 million, a sequel was guaranteed. During a Comic-con panel, the cast gave a look at the brand-new trailer and some of the things we can expect when the new movie releases in theaters on December 5.
Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio, Elizabeth Lail, and Matthew Lillard will all return to reprise their roles. Joining the cast are McKenna Grace (who knows a thing or two about fighting creepy creatures after two Ghostbusters sequels) Freddy Carter, Wayne Knight, Theodus Crane, and Skeet Ulrich, a horror genre icon after appearances in Scream and Riverdale.
Director Emma Tammi told the Hall H crowd that the sequel will give the people what they want, lots more murderous robot things. "
All the set pieces were bigger,” Tammi said during the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025. “There’s more than three times the animatronics than there were in the first movie — the stakes just felt so escalated and exciting. There’s so much more action in this one, you guys, with the animatronics. That was incredibly exciting.”
It has been a banner year for the FNAF gang. After years of being one of the most requested licenses for Dead By Daylight, the collaboration finally happened. It pushed DBD to its highest-ever concurrent player count, and Springtrap has been a top-tier killer.
Freddy Fazbear and his friends have only just begun to haunt our nightmares.
