Sony San Diego dropped the first look at MLB The Show 26 today with a new gameplay trailer. Are you ready for this? I know I am:
The journey starts with your amateur experience, which adds 11 new colleges for your created player to attend. That brings the total of available colleges to 19, including Arkansas, Stanford, and Michigan. Now your created player can get all the way to the Hall of Fame!
The Show 26 will add several new player attributes and a ratings overhaul. Perhaps the most intriguing thing in the whole trailer was Bear Down Pitching, which will allow you to "deliver when it counts." Sony has also revealed Big Zone Hitting, a new interface for players of all skill levels.
The World Baseball Classic has been tied to Diamond Dynasty, and that doesn't seem to be changing this year. We'll get the Tokyo Dome as a new stadium, and all 20 World Baseball Classic Federations will be included.
The trailer also displayed new front office features, including a modernized lineup and rotations.
Our next big glimpse of what The Show 26 has to offer will be February 5 at 2 pm PT, when the development team will talk new features on YouTube and Twitch. Linking your Twitch account will earn you some free Diamond Dynasty packs!
Also, returning veterans will get a special discount on digital versions of the game. If you've played any digital versions since 2021, you get a 10 percent discount on this year's digital deluxe edition. MLB The Show 26 launches March 17, with early access beginning March 12 for Digital Deluxe Edition owners.
