Fans spend more time reading tea leaves trying to come up with Grand Theft Auto 6 news than the game's fictional criminals do planning elaborate heists. To be fair, that applies to journalists too. After all, I'm writing about this fan theory from Reddit that suggests a trailer could be coming this month.

Redditor elliethr proposed that a new trailer could come April 22. The Redditor's reasoning? It's Saint Leonidas Day, and GTA 6 returns to Vice City, in the fictional state of Leonida. More than 2,000 Redditors have upvoted the theory, perhaps more from hoping it's true than actually believing it is.

All we really know is that the game is slated for a fall 2025. Take-Two Interactive stuck firmly to that timeline in its most recent shareholder meeting, and they probably wouldn't lie to their shareholders. They all expect to be rolling around in huge piles of money this fall, so that timeline seems legit.

With Grand Theft Auto 5 launching in 2013, why is it taking Take-Two so long to release the next installment? The runaway success of GTA Online removed any reason to be in a hurry. GTA 5 has sold more than 200 million copies, and is still one of the most popular games on the sales charts.

When players are handing you money, you let them keep doing so. We also have to give a huge shout out to the creativity of GTA players. The roleplaying community that evolved around the game gave us a new, completely unexpected way to enjoy GTA. Take-Two Interactive has embraced this community and GTA 6 will have official roleplay servers.
