Bethesda never changes. Fallout 76's Burning Springs update was supposed to launch today and it's not going so great. After the update released earlier today, players began reporting they couldn't log into the game.

Bethesda announced servers would be back online at 2:40 p.m. EST but that didn't happen either. After instructing players to wait a few minutes before logging in, the publishers took Fallout 76's servers offline.

Whenever it actually lets people play, you'll search for the Rust King, a super mutant described as the unforgiving and unrelenting ruler of Burning Springs. He lives by the motto "Might Makes Right." Players can enter this area by crossing the bridge in Point Pleasant. They can begin the questline by listening to the Ohio Distress Signal after reaching Level 30.

This update also adds Bounty Hunting to the MMO. To start a Grunt Hunt, pick up a wanted poster off the table. A random Burning Springs location will then spawn your target, who will receive a random mutation. Enemies near your target will be able to share the mutation, so keep your wits and guns about you.

One of your targets may drop a premium bounty poster, which will allow you to start a Head Hunt! This is an MMO, after all, and this special hunt will require a little help from friends. The Bounty Hunting mechanic will also introduce us to The Ghoul, excellently portrayed by Walton Goggins in Amazon Prime's hit Fallout TV show.

There's a whole lot going on here, so hopefully Burning Springs is ready sooner rather than later. While you wait, go ahead and download the 40 GB update so you're ready to tackle the wasteland as soon as servers are back up.
