Last time, I told you a little bit about the Dead By Daylight killer known as The First (Vecna). Now it's time to talk survival with Jane Hopper, better known as Eleven. A victim of experiments hoping to harness her psychic powers for warfare, she helps save the world from the sinister threats in the Upside Down. Her unique perks are:
Extrasensory Perception
- Description: “By slowing down and focusing, you can sense both ally and enemy.”
- Effects: After crouching for four seconds, you can see auras in an expanding radius, up to 44 meters, and gain the Elusive and Oblivious statue effects. When you stop crouching or after 11 seconds, whichever comes first, this Perk then enters a 40-second cooldown.
We See You
- Description: “You’ve honed your powers and can turn the tables on those who try to find you.”
- Effects: When the Killer reveals your Aura, you gain one token. Once you reach four Tokens, you can then spend all tokens so you and other Survivors can see the Killer’s Aura for 15 seconds. This Perk has a 10-second cooldown period.
Teamwork: Soft-Spoken
- Description: “You look out for your friends, using your abilities to protect them.”
- Effects: For each Survivor that is repairing a generator with you, the range at which the generator repair noise is heard is reduced by 25 percent. As long as at least one other Survivor is repairing with you, you’re able to repair five percent faster.
One of my favorite survivors is Halloween's Laurie Strode, largely because of the perk Bound By Obsession. That was formerly called Object of Obsession, but Michael Myers is off doing his own game now so they can't currently sell the Halloween DLC. If Ash and Leatherface's games are any indication, he'll be back on sale in DBD soon enough.
Bound By Obsession reveals your aura to the killer for 3 seconds every 30 seconds if you are the Obsession. You see their aura too, and I'll bet you know where I'm going with this. If you combine these two perks with Trevor Belmont's Eyes of Belmont and another aura-reading perk, you essentially have wallhacks on the killer. Eyes of Belmont increases the amount of every aura read you get by two seconds.
There are a number of options for that fourth perk such as Kindred or Alert. Combine these perks with all the visual and audio cues DBD naturally gives you, and it becomes really hard for a killer to get the drop on you.
It feels just like Eleven in the Stranger Things TV show. There are times you'll direct the battle from far away, saving teammates, doing generators and generally ruining the killer's day. Sometimes you'll track that killer down and challenge them face-to-face.
