French indie developer Irregular Shapes had a vision for a cozy, creative builder, and it connected with lots of players in Early Access on Steam. City Tales - Medieval Era has now launched officially,  with a 35% discount to celebrate.

Version 1.0 brings the game's full story to its conclusion for the first time, with both acts available. Players can also pursue 11 masterworks, 10 companions, 3 handcrafted maps, a complete economy with 48 resources, 18 civil buildings, and more.

In this game you don't build homes directly for citizens, you draw districts. Once you have done so, your citizens organically begin building their own lives. You can add buildings, but your citizens will end up deciding where they go. This makes them feel a lot like more real people than automatons only moving at your command.

In another neat touch, you have six named companions who can not only run buildings, but then level up and train apprentices in their craft. Even in medieval times, nobody can run a whole city alone.

We’ve been working really hard close to our community during the Early Access, which allowed us to improve our game constantly," Rémi Malet, Irregular Shapes CEO, said. “Our 1.0 launch marks a huge moment for us as a game studio, as this is our first game, and we really hope that city builder lovers enjoy all that City Tales - Medieval Era has to offer.”

City Tales also has Painter Mode, which allows players to build and create freely without worrying about resources, influence, or progression constraints.
