You haven't seen anything quite like Mullet Madjack, in 2025 or any other year. Developed by Hammer 95 Studios and published by Epopeia Games, it was one of the year's biggest surprises thanks to its unique art style and day-one release on Xbox Game Pass. The debate about whether Game Pass helps or hurts the titles will continue to rage, but Epopeia believes it worked.

Mullet Madjack racked up 800,000 downloads across Steam and Xbox, and reached the Top 10 among boomer shooters on Valve's platform. It's a huge win for Brazil's rapidly emerging game industry, and as such earned honors as the Best Brazilian Game at Gamescom Latam.

But of all the honors bestowed on it, the biggest was in October when Doom creator John Romero played the game on his Twitch stream. His stamp of approval helped generate all kinds of hype. The blessing of an industry legend will do that for you.

Another huge step was a partnership with Ultrakill, pairing these two indie hits as part of an FPS bundle.

Mullet Madjack's simple but addictive gameplay loop gives you only 10 seconds to get from one checkpoint to the next. While its DNA is obviously pure boomer shooter, it's a perfect title for the era of the speedrun.

The game's hero, according to its lore, was born with his amazing mullet, which required a C-section. As he turns bad guys into confetti, he yells at players to maintain basic hygiene and go touch grass.

Mullet Madjack is one of 2025's wildest rides, and well worth picking up if you enjoy adrenaline-soaked shooters.
