2025 is looking like one of those years fans of horror titles will look back on and shed a few tears of joy. The newly announced Resident Evil looks really good. Dead by Daylight is about to give us the collaboration fans have dreamed of, and Five Nights at Freddy's Springtrap will enter the fog. Bloober Team did an incredibly well-received remake of Silent Hill 2. The only logical thing for Konami to do was to give them the original Silent Hill to do the same thing.

It was the definition of a teaser, as basically all they did was confirm that it's coming. This time of year, which is no longer E3 in name, but still features every game company's press conference, that's all it takes to generate hype. There's a little more to say about Silent Hill f. Game Director Al Yang said this game finds the "beauty in terror," which is exactly the kind of f-ed up thing I want to hear about my upcoming horror games. Switching from the well-known town of Silent Hill to 1960s Japan will help give the game an otherworldly quality.

Yes, this is the first title in the series to leave the state of Maine and the fictional town of Silent Hill. The franchise has become so iconic that Silent Hill is more than just a town, it's a feeling. I can't wait to see what they've cooked up here. Silent Hill f is slated for a Sept. 25 release on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X.
