Best Nintendo Switch Games #42 – Overcooked: Special Edition

Developer: Ghost Town Games

Synopsis: You and up to three friends are chefs in a busy kitchen, where you must work together to cook orders, serve them, and clean up as quickly as possible while orders continue to come in. The layout of the kitchen will often make it difficult for you to do what needs to be done, escalating even to the point of preparing food on two moving food trucks, crossing back and forth from one to the other!

Why it’s one of the best Nintendo Switch games: The Nintendo Switch was seemingly made for co-op experiences exactly like this. Overcooked was pure fun and mayhem in its other console iterations, but something about the Switch’s portability and its status as a Nintendo console gives it just the edge it needs as a couch co-op title. Its ridiculous scenarios pit players in that glorious situation of forced teamwork alongside playful exasperation with their teammates, making it perfect for family or friend game nights or those rooftop parties we saw in the Switch commercials.
