Why it’s one of the best Nintendo Switch games: After the burns left by Mighty No. 9’s disappointing showing, some may be surprised to learn that a game exists that, while not quite the pristine nostalgia trip we remember Mega Man X to be, is actually a pretty darn good spiritual successor. It’s weird, too, as it is also made by Inti Creates and co-stars Beck, the protagonist from the Kickstarter disaster. Why aren’t they just marketing this game instead? Satisfying level design pairs nicely with the game’s unique weapon customization system that allows you to mix and match elements and shot styles to play the way you want. Also, the game functions, which is more than we could say about similar titles.
