Best Nintendo Switch Games #31 – LEGO City Undercover

Developer: TT Games

Synopsis: In a parodic reversal of Grand Theft Auto, you play as Chase McCain, a cop in LEGO City who must track down criminals in the city as he pursues the one ultimately responsible for the crime wave. He can drive both cars and helicopters around the city, as well as traverse the city by swinging on ropes and performing wall jumps, and he can (of course) use LEGO bricks to build helpful objects that enable him to progress.

Why it’s one of the best Nintendo Switch games: The LEGO games’ recent history has been stellar, and LEGO City Undercover is no exception. Peppered with humorous references to Grand Theft Auto and held aloft by the usual excellent writing of the LEGO series, LEGO City Undercover’s Nintendo Switch rendition features improvements in the remastered version such as improved loading screen times and a desperately-needed co-op mode. Since it’s highly likely you missed this game in its Wii U-exclusive era; the Switch makes a comfortable new home for this and future LEGO titles.
