Best Nintendo Switch Games #38 – GoNNER

Developer: Art in Heart

Synopsis: What would you do to cheer up your whale best friend? Ikk is willing to accept help from the devil himself and descend through level after level of challenging platforming areas saturated with enemies, just to find the perfect trinket for Sally the landbound whale. Ikk will progressively unlock new abilities and achievements as he travels, allowing him to use a wide arsenal of things to shoot enemies with. As it is a roguelike, no two runs will ever be the same, and GoNNER lets you select certain abilities at the start of each new attempt

Why it’s one of the best Nintendo Switch games: Pick up GoNNER for the cute whale, stay for the fabulous music and enjoyable roguelike elements. Art in Heart admirably offered more than enough unlockables and secrets to keep us venturing back into the darkness again and again for your cetaean friend. Though the game’s self-description as “tough as hell” can at times be a bit too apt, those with patience will find GoNNER an absorbing addition to the Switch library, and an awful lot of fun to play on the go, too.
