Best Nintendo Switch Games #39 – VOEZ

Developer: Circle Entertainment

Synopsis: The band VOEZ is made up of Japanese high schoolers, each with a different role to play. Use the touch screen to tap out rhythms in songs with increasing difficulty levels, or take on specific challenging to unlock new diary entries revealing the story of the band as you progress.

Why it’s one of the best Nintendo Switch games: I was astonished to learn that there was a good rhythm title on the Nintendo Switch already, and happy to discover how well it used the Switch’s touchscreen–a feature Nintendo themselves have been rather quiet about after the Wii U and 3DS touted it so heavily. It’s difficult to explain what makes VOEZ so unique among rhythm games without actually watching the gameplay. Suffice to say, the way that each member of the band contributes to the song with their color coded lines, the moving rhythm lines, and wide range of difficulties make VOEZ an excellent surprise in the Switch’s library. If you hadn’t picked it up before now, definitely give it a shot on the Switch.
