MLB The Show's coy tease a few days ago said it wouldn't have "a new cover athlete" this year. We figured that just meant that somebody who had already graced the cover would be repeating their run. Sure enough, Sony has revealed New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge as the cover athlete. He did the honors for the first time back in 2018, after a rookie year that rewrote the record books.
It sounds like he'll be the star of one of the game's storyline modes as well, according to this blurb from Sony:

Starting March 17th, MLB The Show will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch with some special perks. You know there's the now industry-standard pre-order early access.
- Pre-orders for the Standard Edition and *Digital Deluxe Editions open on February 3, at 12 pm EST/ 9 am PST on TheShow.com, platform stores, and participating retailers.
- The Digital Deluxe Edition gives you four days of Early Access starting March 13.
