Synopsis: Years after the events of Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Isaac and co’s children have grown up … mostly. After Tyrell blunders into destroying an important device, he, Matthew, and Karis must go out on their own journey to repair it. Along the way, they’ll encounter shadowy figures reminiscent of their parents’ past, collect brand new Djinn, and explore the changed world of Weyard now resplendent with magical Psynergy.

Why It’s One Of The Best Nintendo Games: It’s difficult to look at Golden Sun: Dark Dawn without the rose-tinted glasses of its predecessors. The original Golden Sun games on GBA were incredible RPGs, and by comparison, Dark Dawn certainly has its weak points. But taken on its own, Dark Dawn is an interesting spin on RPG adventures with a unique storyline, gorgeous visuals, a curious collection and ability system in the Djinn, and fabulous music by Motoi Sakuraba. It may not be the Golden Sun game we wanted, but as the Golden Sun game we got, it’s not half bad.
