Best Nintendo 3DS Games – #6 Pokemon Sun and Moon

Developer: Game Freak

Release Date: November 18th, 2016

Synopsis: You’ve just moved to the sunny islands of the Alola region, and are almost immediate whisked away on your Pokemon adventure by Professor Kukui. Instead of facing eight gyms, you’ll instead be tackling the Alolan Island Challenge, which takes you to seven trials on four islands. You’ll battle, of course, but you’ll also solve puzzles, answer quiz questions, take photos, and explore the gorgeous region in your quest to become Alola’s champion. Along the way an evil, Pokemon-stealing team and a mysterious girl named Lillie will add both struggle and magic to your quest.

Why it’s one of the best Nintendo games: Pokemon Sun and Moon is not only one of the best Nintendo games out right now, it’s also one of the best Pokemon games ever. Never before has the series featured such a strong storyline, such interesting characters, or such a fabulous cast of Pokemon partners to discover and train. Quality of life updates and UI adjustments from prior games help streamline Pokemon training like never before. Its few flaws (a slightly weak endgame and a few framerate issues) are easily outshined by how much fun it is to play. If you’re looking either to return to the Pokemon series, or even if you just want a solid RPG, Pokemon Sun and Moon is the way to go.
