Does Alan Wake 2 have a New Game Plus mode?
If you enjoy Survival Horrors, Alan Wake 2 definitely should be on your list of must play games. The story is fantastic, the characters are likable, and the game is rich with content.
When you come to the end of your Alan Wake 2 journey, you are left with wanting more. Not because the game doesn’t offer you enough, to begin with, but because the game is so much fun you don’t want your experience to end. With the help of New Game Plus, your Alan Wake 2 adventure doesn’t have to end when you beat the game.
Does Alan Wake 2 offer New Game Plus?
Most AAA video games offer a New Game Plus option. If you completed Alan Wake 2 already, you may be wondering where New Game Plus is located so that you can jump right back into a second playthrough. Unfortunately, Alan Wake 2 doesn’t have a New Game Plus option, yet.
The key word is “yet.” Remedy Entertainment, the developers of Alan Wake 2, have not been shy to confirm that a New Game Plus game mode is coming and it is going to be called Final Draft. Final Draft will have its similarities to your standard New Game Plus, but it also may have some really big differences.
Of course, you will keep your Skills, Charms, Weapons, and stuff of that nature when you start up Final Draft. This is standard when it comes to New Game Plus modes. This stuff carries over to help you out with the enemies being tougher during your second playthrough. However, normally the game stays almost exactly the same. Remedy Entertainment might have something else to say about that.
Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that they are planning on adding new story elements into the Final Draft mode. This means that there will be new manuscripts to collect, new story content to uncover, and potentially a new ending made special for Final Draft players. If all of this checks out like we are expecting it to, then it almost makes Final Draft a must play game mode.
Currently, there is no news as to when Final Draft mode is going to be added to Alan Wake 2. The early rumblings are that Remedy Entertainment should be adding it to the game sooner rather than later, but until anything is confirmed, we will just have to wait.
At the moment, if you are looking to get more Alan Wake 2 gameplay in, you are going to have to start a new game completely. This isn’t the worst-case scenario, especially if you are trying to 100% the game and get all the Achievements/Trophies that are being offered. The only downside is that none of the stuff you would have acquired through your first playthrough will carry over. If this doesn’t bother you, then that is an option for the time being. If you rather not lose anything you earned during your first playthrough, then you are going to have to wait until Final Draft mode is officially released.
