When it comes to video games, there comes a time where developers need to move on from older creations because technology is constantly improving. Unfortunately, that is happening with some of the fan favorite Ubisoft titles.

Ubisoft announced on their website that they are making the tough decision to shut down 10 of their video games’ online servers at the beginning of the 2024. The statement reads, “Decommissioning the online services for older games is something we do not take lightly, however, it is also a necessity as the technology behind these services becomes outdated. As a result, we will decommission the online services of several games across different platforms on 25 January 2024.”

Ten Ubisoft video games that will close online servers in January 2024

  • Assassin’s Creed II (Xbox 360)
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood (MAC)
  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations (PC)
  • Ghost Recon Future Soldier (PC)
  • Heroes of Might and Magic VI (PC)
  • NCIS (PC)
  • R.U.S.E (PC)
  • Splinter Cell: Conviction (Xbox 360)
  • Trials Evolution (PC)

There are some pretty iconic Ubisoft titles on this list with the biggest being Assassin’s Creed II. Assassin’s Creed II is one of the best Assassin’s Creed video games of all time. However, it won’t be the only Assassin’s Creed game to cease online servers in 2024. Assassin’s Creed II will also be followed by Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations.

The good news is that just because the online servers are going away, that doesn’t mean the game as a whole will be unavailable. You will still be able to play any of those games’ single player whenever you want.

Let’s be honest. I don’t think there were many players using any of the online servers on the video games up above, but I am sure there were still a select few that would for a variety of different reasons. If you were still using the online servers for any of the Ubisoft titles above, you have until January 25, 2024, to squeeze every last bit of multiplayer out.

Luckily, Ubisoft has plenty of other great video games where you can still put hundreds of hours into the multiplayer, and they all have a much more updated experience.
