Inside has gained traction since its release in 2016, but I’d argue it still deserves more attention. Like Little Nightmares, this indie horror title focuses on a boy trying to escape a dangerous environment. The main difference is that the child is trapped in an authoritarian dystopia where people are under mind control.
The game has no dialogue, so players must figure out what’s happening through visuals. Inside is another title that purely relies on environmental storytelling and a haunting soundtrack to understand the character’s frightening situation.
