Eden Hazard announced his retirement from professional football, both club and international, on Oct. 10. “After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer,” Hazard said in a statement. He also thanked the clubs he played for, LOSC Lille, Chelsea and Real Madrid, plus the Royal Belgian Football Association.

All three clubs and the Belgian national team released statements thanking and celebrating the player. Fans might have not even noticed that Hazard isn’t currently available in FC 24 Ultimate Team. Well, after announcing his retirement, now would be a great time for EA Sports to celebrate the player with an SBC.

Is Eden Hazard in FC 24 Ultimate Team?

As of writing, Hazard is not currently in Ultimate Team. He does not have a base item available in packs. Though, that shouldn’t stop EA Sports from releasing a special item for the Belgian. EA Sports has certainly released player items for cards that weren’t available at launch, most notably with Franck Ribery. But, of course Eden Hazard left Real Madrid three months ago so he doesn’t have a club affiliation. There’s an answer to that though, as EA Sports released player items during last year’s World Cup festivities without club affiliations.

Eden Hazard Career Achievements

Hazard’s career might’ve fizzled out toward the end with Real Madrid, but many don’t know just how accomplished he was in the Premier League for Chelsea.

  • Chelsea Appearances – 245
  • Chelsea Goals – 85
  • Two Premier League Titles
  • One FA Cup
  • One EFL Cup
  • Two Europa League Titles
  • PFA Players’ Player of the Year
  • PFA Fans’ Player of the Year
  • PFA Young Player of the Year

That’s not to even mention the awards he accrued with Lille winning Ligue 1 in 2010-11, plus many more trophies including a Champions League with Real Madrid.

EA Sports Needs to Release an End of an Era Card

Hazard’s career speaks for itself and EA Sports should honor him with an End of an Era card. If the developer has to go with no club affiliation, so be it. Or, EA Sports could figure out a way to release him as a special Icon or Hero later this game cycle. At the very least, players should expect him to be added when FC 25 comes around.
