Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: How many Spider Suits are there?

Sony and Insomniac Games released a new trailer today showing off a number of interesting gameplay features. Among them are fast travel, flying combat and of course – just how many suits will we be able to pick up on our traversal through the city. Well, we have the answer to that now.

Bryan Inithar, Creative Director at Insomniac, breaks down the trailer extremely well. Between Miles and Peter, we will be able to pick up 65 different suits. Furthermore, these can be customized to over 200 possible combinations thanks to the in-game designer. Suits from a pink-haired Miles with a mohawk to the classic Peter suit we know and love are all going to be on display.

The fast travel system was also highlighted during the trailer. Boasting a city that’s just about double in size as the first game, Spider-Man 2 will also feature Queens and Brooklyn. We will be able to switch back and forth between Peter and Miles at any point as long as we’re not in a mission-tied event at the time. The trailer shows the game instantly move from Peter to Miles as it switches over to him swinging in mid-air. There was no loading screens shown at all, and it doesn’t appear as if there is any during gameplay. Cut-scenes, however, may be different with cinematics.

Also revealed was a brand new way to pick up sidequests with the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man app. They will be highlighted during your travels, and finding them helps reveal the specified icon on the app so you can keep track of them more easily. You can also customize the map in order to show only the quests you want to see.

The gameplay looks fantastic and only seems to be a continuation onward and upward from what we’ve experienced with the last two games. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 lands on PS5 exclusively on October 20, 2023. What’s going to be your favorite suit to wear?
