Is Starfield ever coming to Nintendo Switch?

Bethesda’s newest AAA title, Starfield, has gotten off to a hot start. Millions of PC gamers and Xbox gamers have already shelled out a totally out of this world number of hours on the game because of everything the game has to offer. The entire Starfield game as a whole will keep you busy for plenty of hours. In fact, there are even thousands of different planets for gamers to explore. Plus, there is still so much more to come throughout 2024 and beyond. However, all this content is currently only available for PC and Xbox Consoles.

Is Starfield coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point in the future?

The Nintendo Switch console is a very unique console that was created by Nintendo. The Nintendo Switch allows you to take your favorite Nintendo video games on the go, so you can play them no matter where you are. Whether you are in the car for a long car ride, at a friend’s house who doesn’t own a Switch, or you just feel like playing games on a handheld device, all of those options are available to you.

The thought of being able to take Starfield on the go has to be exciting to think about. Unfortunately, a thought is as far as you are going to go in terms of a Starfield Nintendo Switch release.

Back in 2021, Microsoft purchased Bethesda Studios for a whopping $7.5 billion. This deal also including the acquisition of Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media. Both Bethesda Studios and ZeniMax Media are both own by Microsoft and are both a part of Xbox Game Studios. This purchase basically solidified that Starfield would be sticking as an Xbox console exclusive along with a PC release.

The other major thing you have to think about in regards to massive AAA titles coming to the Nintendo Switch is the power of the console. The Nintendo Switch isn’t nearly as powerful as the Xbox Series X|S. With how big Starfield is and all the content that is stored inside of the game, the Nintendo Switch would have a very hard time running the game to its full potential the way Bethesda would want it to.

While Starfield won’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch, there are still tons of other great games that you can play on the Nintendo Switch. This also means that if you are looking to see what all the Starfield hype is all about, you are going to need to purchase it for an Xbox console or your PC.
