Upgrade: Xavier Gipson Wins Over Fans With Walk-Off Touchdown
The vibes in MetLife Stadium both Sunday and Monday could easily be described as a roller coaster, horror movie and love story wrapped up in one. The New York Giants got obliterated at home against a division rival in the Dallas Cowboys. Fast-forward 24 hours later on the 22nd anniversary of 9/11 and the debut of Aaron Rodgers as a New York Jet, four snaps into his Jets tenure his season comes to an end after being sacked by Leonard Floyd.
Though, the Jets weren’t going to let months of expectations pass them by after losing the man they call “8.” Garrett Wilson had an outstanding touchdown, another Jet who we’ll mention earned his season-long incentive bonus in one game, and the player the league and fans fell in love with during Hard Knocks sent fans home happy.
UDFA Xavier Gipson had received tons of praise all throughout training camp from teammates and coaches. After forcing a three-and-out to start overtime, Gipson called game and ran back a punt return for a touchdown. He’s just 67 overall with good speed and acceleration already, but EA should boost him to at least a 70 overall and get those Carrying, Awareness and Agility stats up higher.
