NFC South

I don’t think there are high expectations for any particular team in the NFC South but it still should be a fun division to watch thanks to a pair of rookies in quarterback Bryce Young and running back Bijan Robinson.

1. Atlanta Falcons (12-5) – No. 2 Seed

Quarterback Desmond Ridder makes tremendous improvements in his sophomore season throwing for 3,560 yards, 33 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Wide receiver Drake London also improves on his rookie performance, catching 77 passes for 996 yards and 8 touchdowns. And Kyle Pitts — who regressed mightily last year — returns with 67 catches for 723 yards and 6 touchdowns. As for rookie Bijan Robinson, he is every bit talented as promised rushing 312 times for 1,277 yards and 9 touchdowns.

2. Carolina Panthers (10-7) – No. 6 Seed

The Carolina Panthers would be thrilled to make the playoffs in their first season with Bryce Young. I don’t think it will happen but Madden apparently does. The No. 1 overall draft pick throws for 3,465 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-10)

A 7-10 record for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is definitely better than I would expect from this team. Baker Mayfield isn’t terrible, but he’s also no Tom Brady. He throws for 3,137 yards, 18 touchdowns and 21 interceptions. Mike Evans leads the team in receptions (70) and yards (965) but fails to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark.

4. New Orleans Saints (7-10)

Derek Carr comes over from the Raiders and puts together a solid season — 3,831 yards, 23 TDs, 13 INTs — but the Saints as a whole finish last place in the division. The lone bright spot is wide receiver Chris Olave who catches 92 passes for 1,223 yards and 7 touchdowns.
