Baldur’s Gate 3: Will Xbox Series S version have Split-Screen?
The video game industry is being flooded with a ton of Baldur’s Gate 3 news since the full PC release took place on August 3, 2023. We are coming up on nearly a full month as a full release and the news doesn’t seem to be ending when it comes to this game. The hype around Baldur’s Gate 3 is still just as much as it was at the beginning of August. Larian Studios didn’t end Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, and it is confirmed coming to Xbox platforms later on this year.
Balder’s Gate 3 continues to grow onto new platforms, and it doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon. On September 6, gamers will be able to get their hands on a PlayStation 5 version. If you purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, you can even play it four days early on September 2. However, the platform growth doesn’t end there. Larian Studios confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 would indeed be coming to Xbox platforms later on this year as well.
Is the Baldur’s Gate 3 Split-Screen issues for the Xbox Series S fixed?
The news about BG3 releasing on Xbox platforms is significant because of the issues they were facing when it came to a possible Xbox Series S version. The issue I am referring to has to do with getting Split-Screen to work on the Xbox Series S. There were no Split-Screen issues when it came to the Xbox Series X, but Larian Studios did not want to release Baldur’s Gate 3 on the Series S without resolving this issue.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like this issue is fixed. The good news though is that Larian Studios is still going to do everything in their power to get that feature up and running eventually on the Xbox Series S. The Xbox Series S is not nearly as powerful as the Xbox Series X and thus why the developers are facing some issues.
While Larian Studios did confirm Xbox gamers will get the chance to play Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox platforms later this year, there was no official release date said. If I had to guess a Holiday 2023 release date would make the most sense. Developers loves to release their games around this time as video game sales rise in the latter portion of the year due to Holidays.
So while the Xbox Series S version of Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t have Split-Screen right off the get go, Larian Studios is going to continue to work on this issue and get it solved for a post-launch feature.
