All things considered, Starfield‘s specs aren’t terribly unreasonable. The main thing to consider here is the  the SSD requirement and the RAM requirement. This will help with the loading screens of which there can be quite a few if you’re hopping from planet to planet.

For a little bit of comparison, I’m currently playing on a MSI Katana GF66 laptop that I purchased a few years ago. It’s a perfectly competent, budget-friendly PC gaming laptop — nothing top of hte line. I’ve got 16 GB RAM, 11th Gen Intel i7-11800H and an NVIDIA GeForc RTX 3060. The game automatically loaded me on low graphical settings but I’ve since bumped it up to high across the board with no noticeable performance issues.

I hardly consider myself a true PC gamer. I prefer consoles. But I’d say if my laptop is capable of running Starfield smoothly, then the majority of PC gamers will be able to run it no problem.
