3. The Wii is a full-body workout machine

The hottest trend in weight loss is turning workouts into games. A lot of startup companies are creating whole consoles around movement in 2023. Most of them won’t last because of their niche market. The Wii has already proven and bested every motion control fad out there. Early in the 2000s doctors were praising the Wii for being a catalyst to get people moving again. The Wii lasted for seven years pumping out dancing, punching, sliding, and running games yearly. Suffice it to say that The Switch has been lacking in motion games since its inception.

The Wii is an excellent choice for an aerobic gym. If you want to ski, punch, swim, row, do yoga, or dance to Ke$ha then all you need is a Wii. I purchased the game Face Breaker KO Party, a cartoon boxing game. The controls have aged like fine milk, but I admit the game gets me ultra sweaty. Let’s not forget that the system has at least ten iterations of Just Dance.

The way I see it is that the only way to get the best motion-based workout in gaming is to spend $500 on a VR kit or delve into the ancient ways of the Wii. It’s not modern-age motion controls, but it does get the job done.
