Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: What are Open Combat Missions?

A majority of players who purchase Call of Duty video games invest their time in the Multiplayer aspect of the game. However, there still are those die-hard Campaign players who love to see how the Call of Duty story unfolds. From the early looks of it, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign looks like it is going to be explosive. This year there is a new Campaign feature that is called Open Combat Missions.

What are Open Combat Missions?

If you have played through your fair share of Call of Duty Campaigns, you know that they usually tend to follow a very straightforward pattern. You have an objective that you need to complete, you follow the path that the level gives you, and you complete the mission. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the missions that you face are going to be a lot more flexible in the ways that you go about completing them.

Everyone who plays the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign will have the same missions that they need to complete, but everyone won’t complete them the same way. You get to play the Campaign the way you want to play it.

If you like to play more of the stealthy type of gameplay, you can do that. If you are more of a combative type of gamer and like to go in guns blazing, that option is there for you. If you want to be a sniper and complete missions that way, you have that option as well. The Campaign will be very flexible so that you can complete missions the way your gameplay style is suited.

Not every mission in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Campaign are Open Combat Missions. Only a handful of the missions are, and they are spread throughout the game accordingly to make sure there is a balance between the standard missions and the Open Combat Missions.

These Open Combat Missions are definitely going to bring a different aspect into the game and make it where gamers will have more flexibility. One mission you can try and act stealthy and one mission you can be a bit more combative. The choice is up to you, and you can change your playstyle at any point. Just remember that there still are standard missions where you have to complete the objective in the desired way.
