Is Madden 24 coming to Nintendo Switch?
Madden 24 releases this week, with those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition ($99.99) or those who are EA Play members able to play the game now during its three-day early access period. Madden 24 is, once again, a multiplatform title; but you may be wondering if this year’s football game is on or coming to Nintendo Switch.
Is Madden 24 available on Nintendo Switch?
At launch, Madden 24 is only available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. There is no Nintendo Switch version available at launch nor any confirmation that the game will ever come to the hybrid console.
Looking at EA’s history with sports titles on the Nintendo Switch, it’s doubtful that Madden 24 — or any future Madden game for that matter — will ever be released for the platform.
EA Sports has not been very supportive of the Nintendo Switch with any of its sports titles. Although the FIFA games have been released on Nintendo Switch, these versions are typically considered “Legacy Editions.” Gameplay is the same as previous years’ and all that’s new are some of the kits and clubs.
For anyone who has played a FIFA game on Nintendo Switch, you know how disappointing it is. So it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that EA doesn’t appear to have any plans to release Madden 24 on the system.
That being said, it is possible that Madden does come to a future Nintendo console. With rumors that Nintendo is working on a more powerful Nintendo Switch 2, it’s possible that the new system’s improved hardware could convince EA to release Madden on it. Of course, this would be years down the line, so I wouldn’t count on Madden 24 being available, but maybe future Madden games.
For now, you can enjoy Madden 24 on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. If you own a Switch and need your football fix, you may want to check out Axis Football 2023.
