Last month, many people begun to speculate that Red Dead Redemption was going to be remastered for the newer consoles. The clues that led to this speculation was that there were changes to the Rockstar Games’ website in regards to Red Dead Redemption, such as a new logo. The other thing that seemed a little suspicious was that Red Dead received a completely new rating in South Korea. Both of these suggested a possible remaster coming in the near future. Unfortunately, this was not the case and Rockstar Games dropped some other shocking news.

The news that Rockstar Games announced was that Red Dead Redemption would be coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on August 17, 2023. The game will cost $49.99, and you would also be receiving the Undead Nightmare DLC. If you are looking to purchase a physical edition of Red Dead Redemption for PS4 or Nintendo Switch, that will be available on October 13.

Red Dead Redemption is one of the best games that Rockstar Games has ever released and arguably one of the best video games of all time. However, this news from Rockstar Games has not gone over well with the video game community. Many gamers are very upset about this announcement.

Is Red Dead Redemption coming to PS5 or PC?

This news is a little bit shocking for many reasons. The PlayStation 4 is slowly becoming more and more obsolete as the years go on. It is getting to the point where developers are slowly stopping production of new games on the older gaming consoles. The PlayStation 5 is a very powerful consoles that could have had many improvements and quality of life updates. With the power the PS5 holds, the visuals and smoothness of gameplay would have been immaculate.

On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch is not nearly as powerful as its rival consoles. The Nintendo Switch is a great system to play some incredible games Nintendo games, but it statistically doesn’t have the power that Xbox or PlayStation consoles possess. Normally when a video game that has been released for more than a decade releases again on newer consoles, there are some major improvements. However, on the Nintendo Switch, there aren’t many improvements that they can make.

At this moment, it doesn’t appear like Rockstar Games has any plans to release Red Dead Redemption on PS5 or PC anytime soon. Can this change? Absolutely it can. At the end of the day, it just seems like a big opportunity was missed.

We don’t know 100% as to what Rockstar Games has planted up their sleeves. It just feels like if they planned on releasing a PS5 or PC port, this would have been the time to announce it. It really wouldn’t make a ton of sense to wait to release information like that.
