The long-rumored and anticipated transfer move of the summer for Arsenal finally came to fruition when the North London club signed midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United for £100 million plus £5 million in add-ons. Arsenal fans saw a resurgence from Granit Xhaka last season as a left-sided midfielder, but fans have long dreamt about having that stalwart in midfield calling back to the days of Patrick Vieira. Fans hope Rice is that player and it’s been reported numerous times how manager Mikel Arteta feels Rice will transform the team. Not to mention, the club still has Thomas Partey whose form for most of the season had him in conversations with Rodri and Casemiro.

Rice has consistently been upgraded at launch during his time playing for West Ham. He entered FIFA 23 as an 84 overall and once again received a Team of the Season item. In what ended up being his final season for the club, he helped West Ham United to the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy.

Alongside a strong World Cup performance next to Jude Bellingham, Rice should receive another upgrade. We believe he should be an 86 overall, but don’t be surprised if EA Sports do the minimum and just bump him up one rating to 85.
