LEAK: Call of Duty 2023 Alpha Codename Revealed
According to Insider Gaming and other reports, Modern Warfare 3 is set to be a direct sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. Insider Gaming reported key dates to know for Modern Warfare 3:
- Beta Weekend 1 (PS4/PS5) – Oct. 6, 2023 – Oct. 10, 2023
- Beta Weekend 2 (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – Oct. 12, 2023 – Oct. 16, 2023
- Campaign Early Access (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – Nov. 2, 2023
- Full Release (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – Nov. 10, 2023
- Season 1 Launch / New Warzone Map – Dec. 5, 2023
The codename HailStröm likely doesn’t signify anything particular, and Insider Gaming previously revealed that MW3 is codenamed Jupiter.
Not much else is known regarding MW3. It’s likely it’ll feature the same engine as MW2 with some updates, but fans want to know two important things.
- Will it have red dots on the mini-map?
- Will Dead Silence/Ninja be a Perk and not a Field Upgrade?
Both red dots and Dead Silence were massive points of contention in the player base all throughout MW2’s lifecycle. Players desperately hope that these changes are reverted come MW3, otherwise it’ll be another year of the same old stuff.
