#1. Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles were already rated as one of the top teams in Madden 23. After their Super Bowl run last year, I fully expect them to return as the best-rated team in the NFC.

The Eagles were one of the best all-around teams in the entire NFL last season and much of their roster returns, with likely improved player ratings. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, for example, began the year with a 74 overall. But after his MVP-caliber season, the dual threat QB finished with an 87 overall rating. Lane Johnson (95 OVR), Jason Kelce (93 OVR) and Jordan Mailata (86 OVR) return to an offensive line that led the league in pass protection and pass-rush grade in 2022. There’s no chance their overall ratings drop from last season.

And when we get to the defense, we’re talking about a unit that finished with the third-most sacks in NFL history during the regular season. The Eagles managed to add even more firepower to their pass rush in the draft with Haason Reddick (OLB) and Jalen Carter (DT). Carter was considered by many to be the best prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft.
