The kickoff to Madden Ratings Week for Madden 24 is just a few days away. Ahead of the highly anticipated event, we’ve been going through the various positions, predicting the individual player ratings. But football is a team game, and now we’re turning our attention toward the best overall teams in Madden 24. Kicking things off, we’re predicting the overall ratings for NFC teams in Madden 24.

The Buccaneers, Rams and Packers were the three top-rated teams in the NFC to start in Madden 23. Oh, what a difference an offseason makes. Tom Brady retired from football, Aaron Rodgers was traded to the Jets and, well, the Rams are another year older with lots of deficiencies right now.

I feel like we can all generally agree on who will be the three best-rated NFC teams in Madden 24, although we can debate the order in which they should reside. But outside of these three teams, the NFC feels pretty much up for grabs.

#5. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions were one of the lowest-rated teams to start the season in Madden 23. After starting the season 1-6, the Lions went on a tear, winning eight of their next ten games and finishing the season with a 9-8 record. They ultimately missed the playoffs but there’s no denying this team has some talent on its roster.

The Lions have a pretty decent offensive line and quarterback in Jared Goff who knows how to deliver the football to his playmakers. Speaking of playmakers, the Lions have a talented group of wide receivers in Amon-Ra St. Brown (85 OVR) and Jameson Williams (78 OVR). Although they traded D’andre Swift (80 OVR) to the Eagles, they drafted a replacement in Jahmyr Gibbs who should be more than capable of taking over the starting role. Swift wasn’t rated terribly high, to begin with, so there shouldn’t be too much of a drop-off with the rookie.

The defense also has some young studs in Aidan Hutchinson (80 OVR) and James Houston IV (71 OVR). The two combined for 17.5 sacks last season and should see a decent improvement to their overall rating for Madden 24. I think the Lions will be one of the top five best-rated teams in the NFC, but it will be close with the Minnesota Vikings who may very well have a player in the “99 Club” in Justin Jefferson.
