Epic Games is always rolling out new Fortnite skins in the Item Shop and in each new Battle Pass, but recently, none of the designs even come close to some iconic, rare Fortnite skins that everyone wants, but will likely never get.

Our list features everything from previous collaborations with popular artists, TV shows, and movies to a few Season 1 originals that have not returned to the Battle Royale in years. Although Fortnite skins have a habit of reappearing when we least expect it, it is hard to imagine these skins making a return anytime soon.

Before we get into the collaboration skins, let’s start with a rare Fortnite skin that still trumps almost any other Tier 100 Battle Pass skin: Midas. As the Legendary Outfit in the Chapter 2 Season 2 Battle Pass, Midas was what every Fortnite player in 2020 strived to unlock. In fact, you could rarely go a game without having a Midas in the final circle.

Not only is the skin visually cool, with its gold eyes, jagged scar, and tattoos, but its alternate styles make it one of the best in the game’s history. The default skin could eventually morph into three different styles, all with gold skin King Midas would be proud of.

Now, Epic Games almost always has a special crossover skin main event a Battle Pass. Recently, Geralt of Rivia, Eren Yeager, and Optimus Prime were all the eye-catching draws of Chapter 4’s Battle Passes. The new additions are fun collaborations to see inside a Battle Royale, but there should really be a bigger emphasis on creating more homegrown Fortnite characters like Midas.
