July 4th is the best holiday in America. It celebrates the birth of a nation and the resolve of millions of farmers against the most powerful military in the world. The video game industry is a wide-reaching one, but here are the most patriotic video games to play for July 4th. They are listed in no particular order.

Street Fighter

In this game for July 4th, you are only allowed to play as Guile. You are not going to find any fake, soy rage here as Guile is one of the most, if not the most, American characters ever. The guy just straight takes out anyone in his way with testosterone-fueled adrenaline and, as a member of the United States Air Force, there’s no doubt that Guile represents Americana at its finest.

Street Fighter VI is available now, but you can find Guile in any number of games in the franchise.

Wolfenstein II New Colossus

Taking out Nazis is as American as it gets.  The first-person view really adds to the immersive experience of telling murderous, socialist, spawns of the devil Nazis where to go and more importantly, exactly how to get there. BJ Blazkowicz takes the fight on American soil with some of the craziest weaponry and technology we’ve seen.

Broforce

Devolver Digital put out an incredibly underrated game with Broforce. A platforming side scroller, we play as a number of American movie star-type characters such as John Rambo, Chuck Norris and more. As members of a paramilitary organization, our only job is to take out terrorists with as much American muscle as possible. Broforce is available now on PlayStation, Xbox and PC

The Division 2

As a looters shooter, The Division 2 allows us to take back our country and rescue the President who’s being held hostage by a group of terrorists. Not much can get more American than that. The game’s story is decent, and gameplay allows for countless hours of fun in both solo or multiplayer.

Saints Row IV

In this game, we play as the actual President of the United States. After being elected for stopping a terrorist attack, we now have to escape from an alien Simulation from the invading Zin. The simulation is set in 1950s America, and not much more says America than a dual-wield terrorist and alien invasion battle.

Rush’n Attack

An original NES game, it’s still available now on Switch online. An amazing game seeing us play as an American soldier in Russia taking out communist after communist with only a knife. I mean, what more do you need in between hot dogs and beer this July 4th!

Oregon Trail

Let’s go truly original as nothing says Americana originality like actually exploring America for the first time. Fire up the old disc and good luck! I hope you don’t die of dysentery.

Bad Dudes

Another original NES game still on Nintendo Switch Online. Two nobody American street fighters get recruited to save the kidnapped President. It’s an awesome game that sets the stage for similar games like Final Fight. The best part about this game is that the ending is different depending on what NES cartridge you had. It’s definitely worth checking out.

There are a bunch more, and I’m sure you have your own list of Americana video games. Let us know below your favorites!
