The highly anticipated online stress test for Mortal Kombat 1 has gone live today. The test, which aims to stress the online infrastructure of the game and identify potential issues ahead of its launch, will run through the weekend before ending on Monday, June 26 at 11:00 a.m. EDT / 8:00 a.m. PDT.

Invites to the Mortal Kombat 1 stress test went out earlier this week, and you may be wondering how to play. For starters, in order to have received an invite, you must have signed up to participate. It seems you can still register for the test here, although not everyone is guaranteed access. It’s probably especially harder to get invited now that the test has begun.

The stress test is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and does not require PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold to participate. It’s also only available for players in North America, Latin America, Brazil, and Europe.

If you did get an invite, simply follow the directions in the email. Redeem your key and sign into your WB Games Account. Then select your preferred platform and follow the instructions to download it.

Once you get in, you’ll be able to play 1 vs. 1 online multiplayer as well as a limited single-player Klassic Towers mode against A.I. opponenets.

It should be noted that pre-ordering Mortal Kombat 1 only granted early access and Beta Access. The online stress test is completely separate from those and unrelated, so pre-ordering would not have gotten you access.

For those who did pre-order, the Mortal Kombat 1 Beta is currently scheduled to take place in August. To get invited to that, you must pre-order any version the game on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Early Access will be available to anyone who pre-orders the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium or Kollector’s Edition.

Mortal Kombat 1 is slated to release on September 19, 2023. It will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
