Overwatch 2: Invasion: Everything you need to know
Blizzard has announced that Overwatch 2: Invasion will be arriving on August 10th. The highly anticipated season is going to add tons of new features to the game including new story missions, a new PVP game mode, and even a new Support Hero.
Null Sector attacks Overwatch 2 again!
Null Sector is once again attacking Overwatch 2. This isn’t the first time and it may not be the last.
Overwatch 2: Invasion will feature three new story missions that will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Gothenburg. These missions will put your true skills to the test as you try and destroy the Null Sector squad, while completing objectives along the way.
Overwatch 2: Invasion Bundles
Blizzard will also be offering two Overwatch 2: Invasion bundles that gamers can purchase to get them started on saving the world. There are two bundles available for purchase for the Invasion season set to kick off in August, the Invasion Bundle and the Ultimate Invasion Bundle.
Invasion Bundle ($15)
- Permanent access to the Overwatch 2: Invasion Story Missions
- 1,000 Overwatch Coins (equal to the Premium Battle Pass, $10 USD value)
- A brand-new Sojourn Legendary skin ($19 USD value)
- Permanent access to Sojourn as a playable hero for new players: unlocked upon completing Story Mission challenges.
Ultimate Invasion Bundle ($40)
- Every bit of content from the Invasion Bundle
- The Null Sector Premium Battle Pass with 20 Battle Pass skips ($30 USD value)
- An additional 1,000 Overwatch Coins, for a total of 2,000 Overwatch Coins ($20 USD value)
- Two additional Legendary skins for Cassidy and Kiriko ($38 USD value).
Both Invasion bundles offer you content that is worth well more than the cost of each respective bundle. However, the thing that has really been annoying gamers is the fact that they have to purchase, what appears to be main base content for a game they already own.
With the wording stating “permanent access” to the Overwatch 2: Invasion Story Missions, it is unclear as to whether or not they will be free for a limited time or if they must be purchased to play them at all. By the way it is worded, the Invasion Missions may be free for a limited time, but that has yet to be confirmed by Blizzard. Regardless, both bundles offer tremendous value and is definitely worth a purchase if you are an avid Overwatch fan.
New Overwatch 2 PVP Game Mode
Flashpoint will be a new PVP game mode that will be making its way into Overwatch 2. The objective of this new game mode is to capture three “flashpoints” before your opponent does. Once one “flashpoint” is captured, the next one will be made available to acquire. This game mode will put a variety of your Overwatch skills that you have learned to the test as you make sure your opponents aren’t able to collect all three flashpoints.
