Major changes coming in Season 21
Bungie has spent the past couple of weeks talking about the new changes and content coming to Destiny 2 with Season of the Deep. Let’s first start with the teaser trailer released last week.
Season of the Deep will bring a new Dungeon, but it won’ arrive until Friday, May 26. Details, including power level, have not yet been revealed, although Bungie previously confirmed the new season won’t increase the Power Level.
This week, Bungie went into even more depth about some of the major changes coming with Season 21. Economy updates, weapon sandbox tuning and abilities tuning are some of the major changes. The classic map Meltdown is coming into the PvP rotation and there are changes and updates to how Trials of Osiris will work in Season 21 with the intention of making it a more rewarding game mode without removing the challenge.
New Strand Aspects
Players can look forward to new Strand Aspects. Here’s a quick rundown of the new Strand Aspect for each class.
Hunter: Threaded Specter
- Activate class ability and leave behind a decoy woven from Strand matter that draws the attention of nearby enemies.
- The decoy detonates after taking enough damage and deals damage to enemies nearby, while also releasing Threadlings that seek out nearby foes.
Titan: Flechette Storm
- Activate charge melee ability while sliding to leap into the air, knocking nearby targets away and dealing damage.
- While airborne, activate your charged melee again to launch a cluster of damaging, unraveling projectiles. Repeatedly activating melee will chain additional throws.
Warlock: The Wanderer
- Tangles you throw attach to enemies and detonate into a suspending burst. Threadling final blows create a Tangle.
There’s also the new NPA Repulsor Regulator, Season 21’s new Seasonal Artifact. New with Season of the Deep is the ability to refund perks from the Artifact individually, saving you time and annoyance from when you had to reset them all at once.
These are some of the biggest changes coming in Season 21, but other quality of life improvements are also on the way. This includes an update to combatant shields and more. Full patch notes will likely arrive on or around the day of the update.
