Telltale announced today the release date for all of its episodes of The Expanse: A Telltale Series along with pre-order bonuses and details. The first episode of the five-episode series will release on July 27, 2023.

As you can see, the remaining four episodes will release rather quickly and only be two weeks apart, releasing on August 3, 17, 31 and September 14 respectively. Pre-orders will be available beginning on June 1 with a standard game costing $39.99 and the deluxe edition costing $44.99 which will include DLC. More information will be coming on the DLC as this would be the first Telltale game to offer it.

In addition, pre-orders grant 24-hour early access, but for some reason only to Epic Games Store and PlayStation players. Xbox players or standard PC players will not be able to get the early access. We reached out to Telltale to find out why, but have not heard back at the time of this writing.

If you are unfamiliar with the Expanse, it is a game centered around the SyFy TV series of the same name. Telltale offered a statement explaining how the game is tied into the television show:

"Players take on the role of Camina Drummer (played by actress Cara Gee in both the game and TV series), the XO of a scavenger crew on the hunt for a mysterious treasure on the edges of The Belt. As Drummer, you must deal with a mix of powerful personalities, square off against a bloody mutiny, explore locations beyond The Belt, and make tough decisions that will decide the fate of The Artemis crew. Scour shipwrecks, use mag boots to walk on walls and ceilings, and utilize Zero-G thrusters to float through sections of ships and the open expanse of space"

Of course, this announcement is bittersweet for fans of The Wolf Among Us series who have been waiting for release date information for season 2 since the first season release ten years ago in October 2013. The Expanse: A Telltale Series will release on both generation PS and Xbox consoles as well as PC and Epic Games July 27.
