Does Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom have New Game Plus?
Due to the fact that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom just came out, you probably haven’t had the chance to beat the game in full yet. There is no reason to rush your experience with Tears of the Kingdom as you should take the time out and enjoy every single moment that you can. The game has proven to be a real gem so far and taking the time out to enjoy the experience will be worth every second.
If you have gotten the opportunity to finish The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and find yourself wanting more, you might ask yourself the question: does Tears of the Kingdom have New Game Plus that I can play?
Unfortunately, the answer is no… at least fo rnow.
Currently, there is no New Game Plus game mode in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, But that doesn’t mean that it will always be like that. Nintendo could add the new game mode in a future update, but for right now the answer remains at no.
Will Master Mode return to Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
If you take a journey down memory lane, you may remember Master Mode from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Master Mode was a variation of New Game Plus.
Unlike a traditional New Game Plus game mode, Master Mode was available to play right from the start. You didn’t need to beat Breath of the Wild in order to unlock Master Mode. If you started Master Mode after a full regular playthrough, you wouldn’t get to carry over anything either. Master Mode was its own separate game mode, and everything needed to be earned all over again.
The similarities that Master Mode had with New Game Plus was that enemies were a lot stronger. Not only did enemies get stronger, but they also had a health regeneration ability. This made fighting enemies and bosses a whole lot harder. Master Mode made you think about your upgrade choices a little more in depth. Hence why Master Mode was very similar to New Game Plus without actually being New Game Plus.
At this time, Master Mode is not in Tears of the Kingdom, but that can likely change in the future. Master Mode was not available straight from Breath of the Wild’s launch. It came a few months later as part of DLC and I would not be surprised if Nintendo decided to take a similar route with Tears of the Kingdom. Tears of the Kingdom is already super popular. The more time Nintendo can get gamers to stay and play their video game, the better it will be from both parties.
